We are currently in very uncertain and unprecedented times in recent history. After a lot of consideration I have taken the decision to close the church until further notice.
With the outbreak of COVID-19 all public worship meetings have been closed throughout the country and we have a responsibility to ensure that we are acting within the guidelines of our Government.
I am desperately saddened for us to be unable to meet as a family as we have done for years without disruption. However the issues at hand are very serious and real and the safety of our community is of paramount importance.
We now have an opportunity to experience what it means to be a community in a whole new way. It is vital that we maintain relationship and connection through this period of time, and I am convinced that we can still meet, share and demonstrate what it means to be a community.
This is the time to truly embrace the awkward and essential challenge of Christian community.
We all still have a responsibility to ensure that we can operate financially when this period is over and also still support the schools work whilst they are unable to generate income due to school closures. I would encourage everybody to use online banking wherever possible to set up standing orders, or one-off financial gifts. This not only supports the church through a time where we cannot take an offering but will also mean Alison does not have to handle cash.
